Urgent care or the ER, what’s the difference?
Urgent care: Have a sore throat, rash, stomach pain or other minor problem? If your doctor’s not in, go to urgent care.
ER: The emergency room is for life-threatening medical problems, like:
- Chest pain
- Numbness in the face, arm or leg
- Bleeding that won't stop
- Loss of consciousness
- Seizure
For problems like these, call 911 or go to the ER right away.
