Urgent care or the ER, what’s the difference?

  • Urgent care: Have a sore throat, rash, stomach pain or other minor problem? If your doctor’s not in, go to urgent care.

  • ER: The emergency room is for life-threatening medical problems, like:

o Chest pain
o Numbness in the face, arm or leg
o Bleeding that won't stop
o Loss of consciousness
o Seizure

For problems like these, call 911 or go to the ER right away.
