Rebecca T. Obedian, M.D.

Dr. Rebecca Obedian, formerly of Zwanger–Pesiri Radiology Group, is a board certified Radiologist. She graduated cum laude from UCLA, where she was president of four honor societies, and was later honored by having a Dean’s Association Award named after her. She went on to receive her medical degree from University of Illinois at Chicago, receiving the Academic Excellence Scholarship Award. After completing an internship in Internal Medicine, Dr. Obedian entered residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at Long Island Jewish Hospital. While at LIJ, she  was awarded first place in the NSUH-LIJ Health System Annual Academic Scientific Competition as well as the Educational Outcomes Award for her various research projects on breast disease and imaging. Dr. Obedian then further advanced her knowledge of breast disease by completing a fellowship in Breast and Body Imaging at North Shore University Hospital, Manhasset.

Dr. Obedian is a long-time advocate for women’s health and has focused her attention to empowering women through increased surveillance early detection.  Dr. Obedian has extensive training and experience in breast intervention procedures, as well as diagnostic interpretation of breast MRI’s, ultrasound, mammography and breast tomosynthesis. Dr. Obedian is often sought by her colleagues for her professional  opinion and advice. She continues to mentor her colleagues in interventional procedures and diagnostic imaging. Dr. Obedian is the author of numerous articles for publication, and has also given several oral presentations at Radiological Society of North America.  Dr. Obedian was honored by the Lean On Me Breast Cancer Network in 2013 for her dedication and contribution to the care of patients with breast cancer.  She was also part of a physician panel at the 2012 and 2013 SASS Foundation Breast Cancer Awareness Day.  Dr. Obedian is an active member of many medical societies.
